The Ministry of Home Affairs is analysing crimes committed by foreigners in different states and union territories (UTs) of India. All cases refer to those registered against foreigners in 2016.
The chart shows cases in three categories for nine states/UTs. These nine are among the top ten states/UTs by total cases registered. The remaining state in the top ten is West Bengal, where all 520 cases registered were SLL crimes.
The following table gives their ranks among all states/UTs of India in each crime category. A state/UT has rank r if (r − 1) states/UTs have a larger number of cases in that category. States/UTs with equal counts can therefore share a rank. An asterisk denotes a missing rank.
